Lets take a look at some of the new Employment Hero features announced in August and September 2022
Employment Hero now allows for custom emails to be sent along with the employee self set up onboarding form
Currently, when a user initiates the Employee Self Setup, the employee is sent an email asking them to complete their personal details. Previously, this email had pre-set text and could not be customised.
With the release of this feature, users are now able to customise the text in the email notification that the employee receives as part of the Employee Self Setup. As part of this release, the pay slip email notification template customisation has been moved from the Pay Slips page to the "Email Notification Templates" menu under Payroll Settings, keeping all email notification templates together. This will also allow future templates to be added in the same location.
Many companies that use an accrual-based accounting system would rather maintain current information on leave liabilities than manually calculate and journal these amounts into their balance sheet. You can set up the Chart of Accounts to map leave liability and expense GL accounts in order to automate this process.
It will help Kepy Pay to more accurately reflect leave accruals within journals (applicable only for AU/NZ/MY).
Currently, we journal accruing leave by calculating its value on the day it is accrued. Once released, the system will project leave taken forward from the end of the pay run and subtract the leave accrual projected from the previous pay run. Pay run activity that will trigger a change in journal data include pay rate changes, rate loading, change in hours worked, leave taken and adjusted leave. This also takes public holidays into account.
In addition to the above, Employment Hero will no longer journal the effect of pay adjustments on accrued leave as a separate line item. It will be combined in the leave accrual value.
The Restaurant and Hospitality Award encompasses employers in the hospitality sector and their staff members who fall under the award's categories.
Following a decision made by the Fair Work Commission, effective 1 September 2022, annualised wage arrangements are now in place for the Restaurant and Hospitality Award. These replace the previous annualised salary arrangement provisions.
As a result, we have made the following updates:
